Comet Ping Pong

For my Design Studio class, we are doing a branding assignment. I posted up examples and processes of the logo and since then we've finished with other branding products such as a Manual Style Guide and the Stationery set. For the rest of the semester we're gonna have the logo animation and Content/Advertising Products.

The Process of making a book takes forever!
My paper samples came! So excited to make my stationery.
Manual Style Guide sample.

I kept making mini-samples along with Carrier Folder.

Oh the Spring Breeze

So for my Motion Graphics class we were assigned to make an animation on a word. With that word we were to animate it based on the definition of the word. I chose "breeze".
Note: I have used After Effects a couple of times but I'm not used to it and honestly don't enjoy making animations as I thought I would.

PMS Colors

I don't really have an update because I just got back from Spring Break and midterms are either over or just around the corner (I have an exam tomorrow and projects after projects due this week). But lately I keep headbutting myself because whenever I choose colors for my projects I can't seem to get it in my head to use PATONE (PMS) COLORS. I keep making my own colors through RGB and when I print it, it comes out totally different that it is on my laptop/computer screen. So I had to make a sticky note near my keyboard to use PMS colors so it'll come out looking great when I finally print it out. (Note the image above is a set of colors I had to find to figure out which PMS colors slightly match the semi-circle on the left).

Projects, Portfolio and such.

For some weird reason, my passion for designing has been dwindling. I can't seem to get out of that 'slump' that I've been feeling for this month. I'm not sure why, how or even when it started. But lately, I've been trying my best to break away from that lazy-ness I've been feeling these past weeks and have been working and working so that I have something to show for in class. Until yesterday, I was so tired that I was at the breaking point of passing out. I wanted to do nothing but SLEEP. Despite the fact that I had to miss my class, I finally made my behance page!

Behance.net is an online portfolio site where I can put in my designs. (other than that, my professor said it's useful for us to have when finding work.)

Books, Balloons and baby blue background.

I'm still in that slump feeling this week. But I've managed to start painting again, which is a plus but still. I forgot to mention about my storyboards for my first project in my Motion Graphics: After Effects class. Our assignment was to design/create an animation that reflects who we are. I guess I like books and baby blue color and BALLOONS! cus I somehow created this for an hour with out thinking that it somewhat similar to Dreamworks openings credits.

Anyways! Here is it. The end frame is an iffy - because I'm not sure how to end it: catch "maria" in a net or have a random bar come in as the ground and place them in order to spell out my name.

Slumpy Slump:

I haven't been in a design-y mood lately. Probably because my boyfriend left for Taiwan again. boohoo.
But! This semester is all about identity and logos. We were assigned to design a logo for a company (picked randomly) and redesign their logo. At the same time we're suppose to make a stationery, packaging and one item of our choice to promote the company. I picked a restaurant called Comet Ping Pong. Here's a preview of one of the designs I made:

Logo Mark #1 and Type Exploration.

Logo Mark  #2 and Type Exploration.
Logo Mark #3 and Type Exploration.
Logo Mark #4 and Type Exploration.

Logo Mark #5 without type.

Logo Mark #6 without type.
Logo Mark #6 with color explorations.

Final Logo mark without type.
Logo Mark #6 with Type and Color Exploration.

Two "final" products.

AH!

I haven't been posting anything for this past month because of break, so I haven't done any designing then. I've been to lazy =___=" BUT!! I have been looking at art-related things especially this artist: Riusuke Fukahori. His artwork is AMAZING, using his own technique to create realistic goldfishes in containers/canvases.
