Finals Finals Finals!

So I realized I haven't been updating this blog for a while now. I haven't been able to update tumblr as well except for reblogs and stuff but I'd rather post my own posts. Anyways, it's finals week and I've been pretty busy this past week. Tonight is the last night! yay! So I'm in class right now and I'm doing the remaining details to my portfolio.

Here are previews!
You can see some of my work from this Fall Semester. (Food Type Label, Web Homepage)

Flash Animation

Here's a preview to a portfolio website I'm making in my flash animation class. I haven't used Adobe Flash AT ALL before starting this class...I'm an amateur to it (compared to my classmates >___<") Everyone here has a great deal or even a little bit of knowledge on Flash but I haven't. I know Dreamweaver though! But it's ok. I'm making a very simple but still professional-looking website for my portfolio. So that I can use it to post my portfolio with all its effects...like fading in and buttons! haha.

Elevation for Adidas Store (Georgetown, Washington DC)

Again, a re-design assignment on a store but this time for the interior - signage, window displays and cashier. I have the window display...because I feel it was the strongest out of the three that I have.

Left: what the poster looks like as a window display - Right: the actual design
Concept: Stylized Streetwear (Korean Fashion Influence)

Adidas Website Re-Design

I had to do an assignment for my class where we would re-design a store's webpage.
I got Adidas and this is what I came up with. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Adidas but after looking at products from other countries like Asia, I got more interested in it. I saw that styles from USA and Asia differ from each other, where as USA is more sports-like -- Asia is more fashion-based and stylized. (and yes the watermark goes to my tumblr....i post some of my artwork there too.)

EDIT!!!
(February 28, 2012)

I forgot to put up the final design of the homepage:

I kept the idea of urban, stylized concept but instead of using a modern, sleek photograph in the center I used the Korean group 2NE1 which features them wearing Jeremy Scott's winged-Adidas sneakers.

OPEN BFA Design Exhibition

I don't really have any artwork to show but! I have pictures from my Graphic/Interior Design Exhibition last night! It was really fun. We put up our works so far into our Sophomore year and looked at not only our group's works but also the junior and seniors' works as well.

Here's a little preview of what my final for my FlashAnimation class would be. It's not done and it's super simple, since I've never worked with Flash before. The class is boring I'm not gonna lie. Not only because it's a night class so there's NO ONE I know (well except for one) that's a full time student in there. But the teacher waaaaay to laid back that I have no clue of what's going on in class. It's also quiet cause no one really talks to each other.

So I decided

that I'll post anything here as long as it involves art.

To start things off...my boyfriend gave me this link to Ralph Steadman's 1967 Alice In Wonderland.

Here are some of the examples of his work, the rest are in the link (provided above).

I honestly didn't know what to think of this at first, but I saw that deer and I liked it. haha. I guess I have a bad experience with using lines to emphasize shading and such because my drawing class last year totally bombarded me with comments saying they hated what I did with my work. Or not getting it or something. I don't know.

Blogging about my art.

Hello!
My name is Maria and I am a Sophomore Graphic Design student at Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC. I like many many things (from anime, to Korean dramas, to rock music and dubstep, to fashion and designs. I am very open-minded but opinionated about certain things I feel strongly for. Honestly, this would be the first time that I would be bloggin purely about my art or anything that relates to art (Be that of work-in-progress or merely inspiration).
